Wicker may not seem as popular of a material as it used to be. When you think of wicker, does your mind immediately wander to the set of "Golden Girls"? Mine certainly does. These materials seem like the epitome of leisure and outdoor furniture which has gained an association with porches and sunrooms…owned by your grandparents.
Over the years, however, it has managed to rise up in the ranks with the help of wicker bar stools. If I have any part of it, anyway. I have bought a couple of wicker bar stools in staunch defiance of going along with the furniture grain and instead, opting for the Golden Girls’ idea of fun. I’ve also convinced some of my friends to do the same. If I’m going to bring anything back into style, I’ll use wicker bar stools as a vessel to do so. The wicker bar stools that I’ve purchased are all over 30-inches high and the absolute perfect height for my wicker bar (hey–if you do wicker, you have to go all out). When you have the worlds of wicker home bar furniture pieces combine, you’re bound to have a winner.
I tested it this past weekend in our "Over-60" themed party. Of course, I dressed up as the incorrigible Sophia and introduced my friends to my new wicker furniture while some of them already took to the wicker bar stools. In fact, some were so excited that they immediately started mixing and mingling–accidentally dropping food and drink in all the confusion. No worries; I simply whipped out a cloth and cleaned it right up with two swipes. That’s another great thing about wicker furniture: it’s durable and so easy to clean! I won’t have any fears about my wicker barstools not being able to last me for at least as long as Nick at Nite staples will.
