Swanky Retro Bar Stools Are The Epitome of Cool

My friend had a mod-themed shindig this past weekend and I can’t even begin to tell you just how delicious everything looked. She really did it up this year. In the cute invitations, it was stipulated that we all come dressed with our best impressions of a mod subculture denizen. That was the most fun because we were all required to use some creative licenses to craft a "look". I think some even came in their pastel vespas! By playing the perfect era-accurate music (all on vinyl, of course) and setting up the ideal mod backdrop, the party was set to be the one to beat of the year. As I was holding my cosmo sitting on the retro bar stools and listening to some French Ye Ye pop, I felt like time had rewinded four decades past.

My favorite furniture pieces, by far, were the aforementioned retro bar stools. I’m not sure where my friend got these gems but they were absolutely charming. There were about five or six around the lit up bar and stood about 30-inches high a piece. Each featured a different colored fiberglass body and a chrome base with nice footrests. The seats were contoured in a modern way that not only looked chic but provided the utmost comfort for those who were lucky enough to have sat on them. My favorite part about them were the fact that they are swivel stools! With some drinks in me, I was blissfully whipping around in them…perhaps pretending that I was some secret undercover agent who had to suddenly reveal their identity.

Whoever said that the mod subculture led to a moral decay obviously never sat on one of their uber stylish retro bar stools.
